Aftr 2 years of designing our dream home, we are finally getting ready to break ground!
This has really been a labor of love. I have spent countless hours over the past few years designing a custom home. Working with a terrific builder (Brian Bovee of Bovee Construction Company), we have designed a totally custom home from the ground up. It has been exciting to see our vision for the house come to life on the CAD program, and now I can't wait to watch the building process over the next year.
I will post real photos of every phase of construction as things progress, so everyone can see how things are going.
As of now, we are waiting for the final permits from the town of Red Hook and the final approval from the bank for the construction loan (what a process that has been!). Hopefully, everything will be in place and we will break ground within the next few weeks. Brian tells me the house will probably take close to a year to complete, but we are shooting to finish construction by August, 2011.
I will post again with an update and some photos of the site within the next few weeks.
